Council Approves Proposal to Increase Fines for Dog Fouling and Littering

Last night, the Environmental Services Committee of Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council unanimously accepted a proposal to increase fines for dog fouling and littering from £80 to £200. The proposal was put forth by Councillor Aaron Callan, who expressed delight over its acceptance.

He said “I was delighted that my proposal to increase fines for dog fouling and littering in the Borough from £80 to £200 was accepted unanimously by the Environment Services committee last night. A further paper is to be brought back by officers to look at a range of options for how the Council takes this forward, including more enforcement and education.”
