Marcus Christie Tackles 3-Peak Challenge in Memory of His Mother Joan Christie CVO OBE, Supporting Vital Air Ambulance Service

On December 28th last year, a tragic accident later took the life of Joan Christie CVO OBE, a beloved wife of the late Dan, and much-loved mother of Joanna, Harriett and Marcus.

Despite the swift response of the NI Air Ambulance, which arrived on the scene within 20 minutes of receiving the emergency call, Joan’s injuries proved fatal, and she passed away in hospital on 1st January 2023.

The NI Air Ambulance, a life-saving service reliant solely on donations, requires approximately £5,500 per day to operate. In gratitude for their efforts and in memory of his mother, Marcus has decided to give back to this vital organisation.

On June 3rd, Marcus will embark on an ambitious journey to climb the three highest peaks in England, Wales, and Scotland: Ben Nevis (1,344m), Scafell Pike (978m), and Snowdon (1,085m). With a good-humored nod to his late mother, who was not fond of exercise, Marcus aims to complete the challenge within 24 hours.

Through his extraordinary endeavour, Marcus hopes to raise funds and awareness for the NI Air Ambulance, a service that provides essential support in times of crisis and one that he acknowledges we all hope never to need.

Marcus extends his heartfelt appreciation for any support the community can offer as he embarks on this poignant and physically demanding journey in memory of his beloved mother.
