National Trust submits plans to install pay and display machine at Lions Gate car park

The National Trust has submitted plans with Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council to install a pay and display machine at Lions Gate car park.

The National Trust say that they currently use a “payby phone app system which isn’t very user-friendly, especially for customers without a UK mobile.”

In a statement a spokesperson said “Therefore we’re installing a pay and display machine which will be fully automated and fitted with a solar power system. The amount charged won’t change and the car park will still be open from 10am to 5pm during summer and 10am to 4pm during winter. Access to Downhill Demesne by foot and parking at Bishops Gate remains free of charge.”

The application will go before Councils planning committee early next year.
