A man has been hospitalised following an early morning RTC on the Cushendall Rd, Ballycastle.
Police in Coleraine attended the scene of a one-vehicle road traffic collision on the Cushendall road in Ballycastle just before 3am this morning, Saturday 14 August.
One male, who was thrown from the vehicle, was treated at the scene for serious injuries and then transferred to hospital for further treatment.
A 20-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol and causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody this morning.
In a statement to Causeway Coast Community a NIAS spokesperson said "The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 02:49 on Saturday 14 August following reports of a single-vehicle RTC on the Cushendall Rd.
"NIAS despatched two Emergency Crews to the incident.
"Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one male patient was taken to Causeway Hospital."
