Body recovered from River Bann

A body has been recovered from the River Bann following a search and rescue operation.

Police received a report on Tuesday night (7th September), shortly before 8:00pm, for the concern for safety of a man in the Agivey River near the Agivey Road.

Police and other emergency services responded. Sadly, a man's body was later recovered from the water.

A PSNI spokesperson said that "there are no further details at this time."

Up to 60 Community Rescue Service - Search And Rescue Technicians were involved in search along with their water rescue teams.   PSNI air support was also involved.
