DUP MLA Maurice Bradley is delighted that Coleraine is receiving a tidy-up following a meeting he had in his office.
He said: "I have been speaking with Council officials for some time regarding the state of the town centre. It is dirty looking, dilapidated and overgrown with weeds, and the number of unoccupied shops was also contributing to the overall poor look of the town.
"I was given assurances that street furniture would be refurbished, weeds would be sprayed and the vegetation at Coleraine Town would be removed.
"Thankfully, while most of us were asleep, the weeds around the town were sprayed in the early hours of the morning, the bollards, street lamps etc have received a good coat of paint and today, vegetation is being removed from the Town Hall.
"However, more needs to be done to give the town a good clean and make-over to make it more attractive to shoppers, tourists and visitors to Coleraine, the principal town of the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area", concluded Bradley.
