Causeway Chamber going from Strength to Strength

Causeway Chamber of Commerce is going from strength to strength was the message from the Chamber of Commerce AGM which was held Tuesday 13th September.

Mr. Anthony Newman of Newman Rea Financial Services who was elected as President for the forthcoming year said, “Causeway Chamber is the business voice for this area. We need to continue to ensure that it is heard by the right people, in the right places and at the right time. It is vitally important that we continue to engage with all stakeholders, be they local, regional or national and that the Chamber represents the diversity of the business community in the new enlarged Council area professionally and with expertise.”

Anthony thanked Ian Donaghey for his steady hand at the tiller and fine stewardship of the Chamber for the past 3 years. Anthony welcomed Clare McIntyre of B&E Security Systems to her role as Vice President.

Membership of the Chamber Council, the body that governs the Chamber, was increased with the election of Geri Martin of The Chocolate Manor, Murray Bell of Bell Architects, Dr. Lisa Bradley of Ulster University and Jackie Smyth Business Development at NRC. Existing Chamber Council Members who retired by rotation Paul McAteer of The Harbour Studio and Allison Hutchinson of Hutchinson Tiles were re-elected. Anthony welcomed the new members to Chamber Council saying, “Having an excited, engaged and diverse Chamber Council is essential to the growth and success of the Chamber and I am looking forward to working with you all, to ensure the continuing success of the Chamber.
