Causeway Councillor Shortlisted For Prestigious Investors In People Awards 2017

1 Mins read

Garvagh Councillor Richard Holmes has been shortlisted in the Leader of the Year category in the annual Investors in People Awards. Richard is Managing Director of Antrim based business SAM, a company recognised as a leader in people management practice globally.

The Awards celebrate the best people management practices amongst Investors in People accredited businesses. Winners are announced at a spectacular awards ceremony and dinner at Old Billingsgate, London, on 23 November 2017. Finalists represent the best of the best worldwide and SAM are delighted to have been shortlisted for this. The Awards provide the opportunity to benchmark against high performing organisations globally.

Richard Holmes, MD at SAM said “I’m absolutely delighted to have been nominated and shortlisted for this award. It reflects so well on what we at SAM are driving for as a team and any leader is only as good as his or her team.

“As a company, we’ve always had the family values of team working, integrity, respect and loyalty at our core. Add to this an unfaltering desire to grow the business and you have the SAM recipe for success.

“I can’t let this nomination go past without paying tribute to Sam McCrea (CEO) and Julienne McCrea (Director), who founded the company in the midst of a recession and mentored me over the last 20 years. Entrepreneurs who found a business are a breed apart and we should be very thankful for them.”
Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: “Once again we have been overwhelmed by the number and calibre of entries received for the Investors in People Awards. It’s fantastic to see so many organisations nominated for outperforming in their sector, demonstrating great people management practice and a commitment to staff development.”
