Councillor Angela Mulholland Welcomes Green Light For £6.6m, 87-Bedroom Hotel In Portrush

1 Mins read

Councillor Angela Mulholland has welcomed the decision that a planning application for a hotel on Main Street Portrush is good to go.

Speaking after the decision was agreed at the planning committee meeting yesterday, 23rd January 2019 at Causeway Coast and Glens Council, Cllr Angela Mulholland stated ‘ I was very happy to support this planning application. I paid a visit to the said premises towards the end of last year and I was immediately struck by the state of the building internally, there was a strong smell of damp and I had grave concerns concerning health and safety standards.

This new hotel will rejuvenate the dilapidated part of this building and put it back in use for the local community, for visitors and tourists alike. This hotel will also make a contribution to the wider regeneration of Portrush town centre. It will benefit the local economy and create much-needed jobs in both hospitality and construction.

This is a good news story for the local area.’
