FP McCann’s Bradley’s Quarry completes its largest Ready Mix Concrete pour to date

1 Mins read

FP McCann’s Kilrea based ready mix concrete plant has completed a 500m³ pour to a brand new coastal development in Portrush. The Castle Linn residential building on Bath Road, once complete, will consist of 24 luxury 2, 3 and 4 bed apartments.

Portglenone based housing developer, PRH Construction Ltd is undertaking the build. Integral to the six storey apartment block is the 600mm thick structural ground floor transfer slab/roof slab spanning the basement car parking. FP McCann’s 40N concrete was specified with a slump design suitable for pumping into the reinforced steel mesh formwork.

A 42 metre long Putzmeister concrete pump was utilised to accurately deliver the concrete into the structural floor slab. The pour was undertaken over a single day with 70 concrete truck mixer loads delivered from the Kilrea concrete plant some 25 kilometres from the site.
