It’s all change at EUROSPAR Ballycastle this weekend as Henderson Retail acquire the popular store. The site at 6-8 Ramoan Road, Ballycastle has been owned by Henderson Group Property since 2005 whilst the business was operated by the Culbertson family.
In a statement to Causeway Coast Community this evening Mark McCammond, Retail Director at Henderson Group said:
“We can confirm that Henderson Retail has agreed to purchase the EUROSPAR business on Ramoan Road, currently operated by the Culbertson family.
“All employees have been informed and will transfer to Henderson Retail employees from Sunday 19 January.
“We would like to thank Stephen Culbertson and his family for building an exceptional business in Ballycastle, and working in partnership with Henderson Group on this site, as well as his other businesses across the SPAR network over the past 50 years. We wish Stephen and his family continued success.
“We look forward to working with the team, meeting more of the local community and further enhancing the services available at EUROSPAR Ramoan Road in due course.”
Councillor Padraig McShane commented ‘The staff and the service are of primary importance to the people of Ballycastle. It is a welcome development and one I would hope will be enhanced.’
Earlier this month, the Henderson Group, which owns a variety of supermarket franchises in Northern Ireland, has added 29 Renault trucks to its fleet, 15 Renault Range T460s and 14 Range D18s. This continues Henderson Group’s strategy to standardise its fleet around two core brands.
