A spokesperson for Naturally North Coast and Glens said :

“We are Naturally North Coast & Glens, a not-for-profit social enterprise delivering a community market in and around the Causeway Coast and Glens Area. We offer a unique, supportive platform for local people to start up, develop businesses and become self-sufficient. Our mission is to provide artisan producers with services, support and opportunities to build their businesses and to contribute to local economic, tourism and community development. We want to create a welcoming, educational, cultural and inclusive events that help improve community quality of life.

Thank you for backing our project Make it to Market, which will enable entrepreneurs to take their first steps into business, through local markets. This funding will allow us to provide start-up businesses with subsidised trading opportunities, training, mentoring and the support network necessary to develop their business, confidence and entrepreneurial skills.

The programme will encourage entrepreneurship and diversification in deprived rural communities which have low employment opportunities, championing self-employment, self-sufficiency and enterprise. We can now support the start-up of 20 new businesses and provide subsidised trading opportunities and wrap-around support including one-to-one mentoring, workshops, and peer-to-peer coaching. Our project will help local people build a portfolio to assist them on the next step of their journey in supplying the retail trade. We will also deliver workshops and additional support for the 60 current businesses that we work with to help them progress further.”
