Portrush motel offers free rooms to medical staff fighting the coronavirus

A Portrush Motel is offering free rooms to medical staff who are fighting the coronavirus.

The North Coast Motel situated on the Coleraine Road, Portrush who recently took a hit with cancellations due to the pandemic is now turning to help those in need and offering free rooms to medical staff.

Proprietors Wilson & Rhonda Torrens say they want to provide a place to stay for any medical staff who feel unable to go home.

They said: “Our rooms are open to anyone in the medical sector who may feel they are unable to go home after work or would like an alternative place to stay during the current situation.”

“We have nine rooms available and so we’d like to put them to good use. It’s the least we can do to help right now.”

The motel-style rooms are all en-suite with tea/coffee facilities and a mini fridge. They been thoroughly cleaned ready for use by those in need.

The Torrens family concluded “If we get inundated with requests we will need help and support to clean the rooms.”
