Welcome to the First Enterprise Zone in Northern Ireland

1 Mins read

This afternoon Causeway Coast And Glens Council achieved Legal / Financial Close for the first Enterprise Zone in Northern Ireland. This was achieved by securing the investor and anchor tenant – 5Nines, who will shortly commence construction of the datacentre.

Speaking to Causeway Coast Community this evening Ulster Unionist Councillor William McCandless said “This is exciting news for the Borough that the first Enterprise Zone in N. Ireland has finally been secured and based in Coleraine.

I extend my thanks and congratulations to the Council officers who have worked with persistence on this project for the past few years.

Enterprise Zones are designated areas across the U.K. That provide tax breaks and Govt. support and assistance to new and expanding firms to set up business.

This will eventually provide benefits for business, our community and our economy.

This will be a key economic driving force for our area which will attract business and create jobs.”

Council will now embark on the process to develop, market and promote the remaining site, adjacent site in private ownership and the wider Borough area within the context of the Digital and Creative economy.
