Coleraine Coastguard was tasked to assist the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service to evacuate a casualty who had fallen sustaining an injury from the dunes at Portstewart Strand this afternoon.
A Coastguard spokesperson said "The person had become trapped by the incoming tide and thankfully was brought to safety by PSNI and CG personnel.
"Later in the afternoon, the team was paged to a surfer struggling in the strong surf at Portrush East Strand. Luckily the casualty was able to make it ashore by themselves."
