Coastguard teams respond to incident at Giant's Causeway

Shortly after 2pm this afternoon Coastguard teams from Coleraine and Ballycastle responded to an incident at the Giant's Causeway along with a NIAS Rapid Response Paramedic.

Coastguard teams located four casualties who had been hit by a large wave as they attempted to take photographs.  One man, who had sustained a significant leg injury, was treated by the paramedic before being stretchered to safety by the Coastguard Team.

A HM Coastguard spokesperson said  "Two of his three companions had sustained less serious injuries and were given first aid by Coastguard Rescue Officers and National Trust staff."
