The Education Authority has submitted plans with Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council for the construction of a modular building on vacant land at Sandelford School, Coleraine.
The development will see 3 classrooms with ancillary spaces and outdoor play and the provision of additional car parking spaces.
UUP Councillor Darryl Wilson said, "I welcome this Pre Application Notification by the Education Authority to add to the existing site which already provides a positive, productive, and individualised learning environment."
The application will go before the planning committee within the next few weeks.
