Councillors have agreed to purchase and install fire detection systems at Flowerfield and Roe Valley Arts Centres for the combined sum of £33,650 (+VAT).
The decision was taken by the Environmental Services Committee last week.
It is understood that Flowerfield has had multiple call-outs over the year due to faulty equipment.
The item will come before full council next year for ratification.
