Council to discuss artificial Christmas Trees

The Mayor of Causeway Coast And Glens Council, Councillor Richard Holmes was met with an interesting question from a pupil during a recent visit to Ballykelly Primary School.

During a question and answer session, the pupil asked why 'Council does not use artificial Christmas Trees?'

This question was then addressed to the Director of Environmental Services - Aidan McPeake during a full council meeting last week.  The Mayor asked if this could be followed up on and if possible to bring back a report in the new year.

The council's director agreed to bring back a report on the feasibility and cost of changing their policy regarding public Christmas trees.
