Damhead Primary School Pupil Nominated for Above and Beyond Act of Kindness Award at Uberheroes Kindness Awards

Lottie McCrellis, a pupil at Damhead Primary School, was nominated for the Above and Beyond Act of Kindness Award at the Uberheroes Kindness Awards. The nomination comes from the school’s principal, Jill Laverty, who praises Lottie for her selfless act of kindness towards a fellow pupil.

In September 2022, Lottie became a P7 buddy to Micah, a young boy in P1 with Down’s syndrome. To help Micah settle into school, Lottie took it upon herself to learn Makaton, his main method of communication. Their friendship has since blossomed, and they can often be seen playing together.

The Above and Beyond Act of Kindness Award is given to individuals who demonstrate exceptional kindness and compassion towards others. Lottie’s nomination is a testament to her kind heart and willingness to go above and beyond to help others.

Lottie and her parents received the red carpet treatment at the awards ceremony, which was held on Saturday evening at the Stormont Hotel. They also had the opportunity to meet local celebrities.

Damhead Primary School’s principal and the entire school community are immensely proud of Lottie’s achievements. Her kindness and generosity serve as an inspiration to all, and her nomination for the Above and Beyond Act of Kindness Award is well-deserved.
