Beasts of War: Boot Camp Weekend

1 Mins read
Beasts of War, a miniature wargaming website that covers all manner of tabletop games,  hosted its first Boot Camp Weekend between the 13th and 15th of March 2015 in Coleraine at their Riverside Studio.

The event covered the 10mm scale Sci-Fi wargame Dropzone Commander from Hawk Wargames (http://www.hawkwargames.com/) and allowed attendees to choose their own starter set from the games factions and then spend the weekend assembling, painting and playing with the chosen force alongside likeminded hobbyists.Beasts Of War

Supporting the event were also Army Painter (http://www.thearmypainter.com/), a hobby supplies company,  and 4Ground (http://www.4ground.co.uk/) a tabletop gaming scenery company, that not only provided hobby material for the event but also ran special offers during the Boot Camp.

The first Boot Camp was a sold out affair and bought in twenty four people from all over the UK and Europe as well as countries further afield such as Canada. The tickets for the Boot Camp included a starter set of miniatures, hobby supplies, breakfast, lunch, dinner and a room at Breezemount House (http://www.breezemount.co.uk/) to stay when you were done with all the fun each night.

As well as putting on the event for the attendees Beasts of War also Live-Blogged the entire weekend (http://www.beastsofwar.com/boot-camp/) providing coverage for all members of the website so even those who couldn’t be there had the chance to join in the fun and ask questions of the Hawk Wargames team who were on hand to show attendees how to play the game Dropzone Commander.

The Boot Camp was a great success and the second event has already sold out. The next one will focus on World War II tabletop wargame Bolt Action (http://store.warlordgames.com/collections/bolt-action) from Warlord Games (http://www.warlordgames.com/) and will run from the 22nd to the 24th of May 2015.
Beasts of War also have plans for many more Boot Camps in the future.
