Declan O’Rourke Showcases new album in Limavady

The award-winning singer/songwriter Declan O’Rourke presents songs from his new album. ‘Gold Bars in the Sun’, in an intimate concert at Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s, Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre in Limavady on Friday 2nd October at 8.00pm.

Having achieved critical acclaim for his song-writing, singing and performance, Declan plays to audiences throughout Ireland and internationally. Meteor nominated, his debut single ‘Galileo’ (Someone Like You), has been recorded by many artists including; Josh Groban, Chris Rea and Paul Weller, who have described it as the greatest song written within the last thirty years.

Desima Connolly, Office Manager at Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre said, ”Such was the critical and commercial success of Declan’s first studio album, ‘Since Kyabram’ in 2004, doors opened for him internationally.

”Declan has earned plaudits from the likes of Snow Patrol, Kate Rusby and DJs Jonathan Ross and Edith Bowman, each of whom were rapturous in their praise of Declan’s deep-honey voice and astute song writing abilities.

“His follow-up album in 2007, ‘Big Bad Beautiful World’, easily consolidated his appeal and with his growing list of well-connected champions, he has supported; Paulo Nutini, Snow Patrol, Teddy Thompson, The Cardigans, Badly Drawn Boy, Divine Comedy and Paul Brady.

‘To anyone interested in attending, expect a stunning evening with this celebrated singer songwriter as he showcases songs from his new album, as well as the gems that have made his name so far.’
