1 Mins read

With the Coleraine, Ballymoney, Moyle and Limavady councils being replaced by the Causeway Coast & Glens District Council on 1st April, The Causeway Coast & Glens Networks,  Be Safe Be Well, Corrymeela and the CCEP Programme are organising ‘wakes’ in each Council area to share and remember stories of the ‘old’ Council with a ‘wedding’ to celebrate the new union in April.

The first “wake” is for Coleraine Council and will be held in Cutts House, Castleroe Road, Coleraine on Wednesday 18th March from 7-30-9.00pm.

The second “wake” is for Moyle Council and will be held in Cushendall Sailing and Boat Club on Thursday 19th March from 7-30-9.00pm.

The third “wake is for Limavady Council and will be held in Dungiven Library on Tuesday 24th March from 7.30-9.00pm.

The final wake is for Ballymoney Council and will be held in Ballymoney Town Hall on Wednesday 25th March from 7.30-pm.

Renowned story-teller Liz Weir will be helping to get the stories and memories going at each wake, so those attending should bring along photos or other mementos that they would like to share. There will be live music and refreshments at all wakes, and everyone is welcome to attend.
