Halifax have announced that their Coleraine branch will close on 10th January 2023.
Halifax says that online and mobile banking continue to grow, as branch usage falls.
Halifax, a division of Bank of Scotland plc are starting to inform their customers that all accounts at the town centre branch will move to the Ballymena branch from next year.
MLA Maurice Bradley said: "It’s another blow to Coleraine Town Centre, as yet another business announces closure. However, it it a more worrying situation as we seem to be moving to a cashless society monitored by electronics, and a shrinking workforce.
"I will be contacting Minister Lyons to seek an urgent visit to Coleraine as soon as possible to see what can be down to generate interest in Coleraine Town centre and other town centres across Northern Ireland."
