Detectives from PSNI’s Organised Crime Branch have arrested a 50 year old man following a drug seizure in the Magilligan area on Monday 21 September.
He has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A controlled drug, possession of a class A controlled drug with intent to supply, possession of a class B controlled drug and possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply.
The arrest follows a planned search of a house in the Drumavally area at approximately 11am. A quantity of suspected cocaine, suspected herbal cannabis, drug paraphernalia and a mobile phone was seized.
Police also carried out a search of another house in the Glenmill Park area of Limavady at the same time. A mobile phone was seized here.
Detective Chief Inspector Colin Gillis said: “These seized drugs are estimated to have an approximate value of over £1000. This seizure and arrest is yet another example of the PSNI’s commitment to policing the threat posed by drugs in Northern Ireland and we will continue to work with our local colleagues to combat this.”
The 50 year old man currently remains in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
