1 Mins read

North Coast Integrated College School pupils alongside W5 STEM Ambassadors Alex Portela, Tara Cheevers and Rory McLean at the ‘Design It; Build It, Use It! Stadium STEM’ event at W5. This event forms part of W5’s Friendship Four – Festival of STEM that is taking place throughout November 2015.

Over recent years massive redevelopment work has taken place at our major sporting arenas in Northern Ireland.

This event at W5, targeted at post-primary Key Stage 3 (year 10) pupils, showcased the links between major capital development projects with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects and related careers.

The event included guest speakers who explored the design, construction and operations of a major stadium, followed by a hands-on construct-and-build challenge for the pupils.
