Alliance candidate calls for increase in pace of change in Northern Ireland

1 Mins read

Alliance Alliance East Londonderry Candidate  Yvonne Boyle has said the pace of change in Northern Ireland needs to increase. She was speaking at Alliance’s 46th annual conference at the La Mon Hotel on 5.3.16:

“Many people in East Derry are frustrated with the slow rate of change in the Assembly ¬ and so are we in Alliance!

“The leaders of the other main parties have failed time and again to deliver the significant, important changes this society needs. They have held us back with their stop/start antics , protecting their own votes at the expense of progress. The progress that we need in this area on the economy, tourism and protection of the environment has held back by unnecessary political bickering. They have also prevented us from dealing with the past in a way which would allow us to move into the future.

“Alliance has a proven record of working to unite this community, of fiscal responsibility and of progressive social values. No other party is fully committed to building a united community and no other party can say it is as representative of every section of the community as Alliance.

“It is time we stopped the delay and the fudge of other parties and moved ahead, further and faster, to build a united community. I am committed to that and no other party can be trusted to deliver on that essential change.

“It is time to move forward, faster.”
