Alliance Candidate Yvonne Boyle thanks voters

East Londonderry Alliance Assembly Candidate Yvonne Boyle has thanked voters following her unsuccessful bid to be elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly.

Speaking after the East Londonderry Count the former Coleraine Deputy Mayor said:

I would like to thank all the people who voted for me. I would also like to thank my agent Chris McCaw, the East Londonderry Alliance Association Committee and all the volunteers who helped during the campaign. I would also like to congratulate all the successful candidates in the East Derry constituency.

Along with Cllr Barney Fitzpatrick, Causeway Coast and Glens Council, local Alliance will continue to work in and for the community based on values of a shared and integrated society.

I am pleased that eight Alliance MLAs have been returned to Stormont, including some new younger female representatives. The Alliance cross community voice continues to be vital in the new Programme for Government and in the next five years of the Assembly.
