Archibald condemns Garvagh burglary

1 Mins read

Sinn Féin’s Caoimhe Archibald has condemned the aggravated burglary at the home of an elderly couple in Ballerin on Thursday evening.

Ms Archibald said, “My thoughts are with the couple who are obviously very shaken by the ordeal. The masked perpetrators held the couple in their kitchen while ransacking their home in this utterly disgraceful attack. I would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or who has any information at all to contact the PSNI.

“It is a reminder to us all of the need to be mindful of personal and home security especially in rural areas. I would urge people to be vigilant, and to ensure their doors and windows are locked and any outhouses or machinery are secure.
“It is also important as we are coming into the winter months to be neighbour aware and to ensure our older neighbours are taken care of.” Crioch
