Archibald urges respect for beauty spots

1 Mins read

Sinn Féin MLA Caoimhe Archibald has called on the public to treat our beauty spots with respect and ensure they use the litter facilities provided or take their rubbish home.

Reacting to images on social media of Benone Beach after recent good weather, the East Derry MLA said:

“I would most certainly encourage everyone to make use of, and enjoy, the beautiful landscape we are lucky enough to be surrounded by.

“But equally it is the responsibility of every individual to help to protect and preserve this, and that includes adequate disposal of litter.

“Photos of rubbish along the beach are not what anyone wants to see and it is not a good advertisement for tourists either.

“So please enjoy the weather when we have it and the landscape all the time but respect it also.”
