Ballycastle brothers, Barry and Patrick Lyttle arrived at Dublin Airport yesterday after being allowed to return following a very trying four months.
In January, during an argument outside a Sydney Nightclub, Barry punched his younger brother Patrick, causing him to fall unconscious and hit his head, this resulted in Patrick needing emergency surgery as well as falling in to a coma for approximately one week.
Barry pleaded guilty to Recklessly causing Grievous Bodily Harm to Patrick and was given a suspended sentence and a good behaviour bond after it became clear that Patrick had made a full recovery and had sustained no lasting injuries.
In exchange for a more lenient sentence, the brothers have agreed to speak to young people throughout Ireland on the dangers of violence.
