Bushmills man Conor Ramage will ‘Take on the Tower’ and abseil 190ft down Belfast City Hospital this Saturday in an attempt to raise money for charity, Friends of the Cancer Centre.

Conor set up a Just Giving page last night, hoping to raise £250, however, within less than 24 hours, he has raised £1,332.99, more than five times his initial target amount.

On his Just Giving page, the 24-year-old outlines the reasons for taking on this challenge, revealing that he is currently battling Stage 4 Brain Cancer and has been through two Awake Brain Surgeries, 6 weeks of Radiotherapy and 6 months of Chemotherapy.

Speaking about his chosen charity, Conor says : “I owe a lot of that to Friends of the Cancer Centre. An amazing charity which has helped cancer patients for over 30 years get through the whole process. There is always someone there to support and help you, and they genuinely do care about how you are.”
