THERE are just a couple of weeks left until Northern Ireland’s 2015 SuperMum is crowned. Following the success of last year, SuperValu, partnered with Sunday Life and U105, has continued its search, choosing 36 finalists across the province who are in the running for the SuperValu SuperMum title.
The finalists, who are being previewed in Sunday Life over the last few weeks, will be celebrated at a reception in Parliament Buildings hosted by TV personality Claire McCollum on September 30th. One finalist is local mum Caroline Morrison who was nominated by her daughter Jessica.
Name: Caroline Morrison
Age: 55
Store: SuperValu Portstewart, Co. Londonderry
Caroline is a mother of five children from Coleraine, County Londonderry, and was nominated by her 21 year-old daughter Jessica.
Caroline’s children age from 21 to 30 years old and she raised them almost single-handedly while her husband worked as a long-distance lorry driver, taking him away from home for long periods.
Always encouraging her children to “go and do and be”, as Sharron, Abigail, Cherith, Debra and Jessica are now grown up, Caroline has taken the opportunity to study for a PhD in Social Entrepreneurship.
Still making time for her children, she is there for all of them during difficult times and finds strength in supporting them through life.
