NCIC holds a very important position within the local community as it is the only integrated school at secondary level within a 30 mile radius.
North Coast Integrated College promotes the celebration of diversity and tolerance – it is where young people from all backgrounds are ‘successfully educated together’. In the past week students and staff participated in some events to showcase the ethos of the College, where every day is an integrated day.
Year 8 pupils enjoyed a day of Bollywood dancing and Indian inspired art courtesy of dancer, Kalashree Pol and Karishma Kusurkar, Art Lecturer at UUB and professional art and accessories designer.
Year 9 pupils were captivated by several workshops facilitated by the Ulster Scots Agency which included highland dancing, how to play the Lambeg drum and experiencing what the uniforms and weaponry from the 1641 Ulster Rebellion were like.
Year 11 students enjoyed a day of sport, experiencing games from all over the world.
Year 10-14 students visited many of the local churches and enjoyed talks about how these churches and their congregations celebrate their faith.
The students thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities and a huge thank you goes to all those who played a part in sharing so much with everyone at NCIC.
