Chivers calls for clarity over Drumsurn outdoor gym equipment

1 Mins read

Sinn Féin councillor Brenda Chivers has requested a meeting with the Chief Executive of Causeway Coast and Glens council over the lack of action on installing outdoor gym equipment in Drumsurn.

Cllr. Chivers said “Despite raising the issue on more times than I can count with council officials there has been no movement on this issue at all and I have received no updates.”

“The funding for the equipment was signed off for over 2 years ago under the old Limavady council however the new council wont seem to take any responsibility for installing it and as far as I can tell it has been left forgotten about in a warehouse somewhere.”

She added “I will ensure these facilities will be put in place, they are much needed and many people in the community have enquired about where it has gone. Otherwise ratepayers money will have just been wasted to buy them for noone to ever use.”
