Chivers condemns attack on house in Drumsurn

1 Mins read

Sinn Féin councillor Brenda Chivers has condemned an attack on a home in Drumsurn overnight.

Cllr. Chivers said “A home in the village had its windows thumped and trees surrounding it set on fire which could have led to a serious injury or worse.”

“The occupants of this house includes a disabled man who would have been left feeling very afraid, it is not acceptable for something like this to happen to anyones property let alone someone so vulnerable.”

“My party colleagues have met with the PSNI to discuss the attack and I would appeal to anyone with information regarding this incident to take it to the police. It is not the first time this has happened to this family and this type of intimidation is a complete disgrace.”

She added “I would also appeal to locals to keep an eye on vulnerable neighbours especially as we enter the summer months when this type of vandalism would be in the increase.”
