Coastguard respond to reports of man at risk in Portstewart

1 Mins read

Coastguard Rescue Officers were called to Portstewart yesterday following a report of a male at risk in the sea.

The alarm had been raised by an alert local resident who had noticed the man’s unusual behaviour, prior to his entry into the water.

As rescue units converged on the scene, the resident managed to persuade the man to leave the water and await the arrival of the emergency services in the safety of his car.

Coastguard Officers established that the man was safe, as PSNI and Ambulance Service personnel arrived on scene.
