Coleraine School Break In

1 Mins read

Police arrested two boys, aged 16 and 17 following a break in at a school on Beresford Avenue, Coleraine on the evening of Sunday 05 July.

Chief Inspector Mark McClarence said: “The pair were arrested after police obtained evidence from inside the school. Both boys were interviewed and released on police bail. It Is not thought that anything was taken during the break in.

Chief Inspector McClarence concluded: “The incident comes in the same week that police asked people to be vigilant as schools close for the summer holidays. The School Watch initiative asks people to immediately report any suspicious activity around local schools to police. We know that vandalism and burglary happen at this time of the year and police must work with local communities to catch the criminals who target our schools.”
