Coleraine woman convicted of Benefit Fraud

A woman was convicted at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court yesterday for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

Marian Hughes (26) of Glebe Avenue, Coleraine claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £4,099 while failing to declare employment. She was given a conditional discharge and ordered to pay court costs of £40.

She is also required to repay the outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
