Coleraine woman sentenced to community service for Tail Docking

The Coleraine Woman who was charged with causing un-necessary suffering and docking the tails of dogs was sentenced at Coleraine Magistrates Court today, Friday March 20th.

Edith Burton pleaded guilty to the offences on Friday March 6th, admitting to causing un-necessary suffering to boxer puppies in August 2013 and to docking the tails of a previous litter of boxer pups in June 2013.

The case was adjourned until today so that the court could receive a pre-sentence report.

Miss Burton was sentenced to 160 hours of community service, ordered to pay £216 in Court Costs and banned from owning certain breeds of dog.
