Concerns Raised Over Guard Dog At Former Coleraine UDR Camp

1 Mins read

Concerns were raised on social media at the weekend regarding a guard dog at the former UDR camp in Coleraine.  One Facebook post in particular had over 230 shares.

Residents of the area were concerned that the dog was not being provided with its basic needs of food, water and shelter etc.

Councillor William McCandless said  “I have been to view the dog in its situation and reported it to one of our Council dog wardens based in Coleraine.

The warden however had already been to view the dog and had gained access to the premises to check the dogs welfare. The warden has assured me that the dog is being regularly fed, has access to fresh water and has a covered shed to sleep in.”

The warden will be keeping a check on the dog’s condition.
