The security operation in rural Drumsurn is continuing and is expected to remain ongoing into tomorrow morning.
This afternoon, Friday 13 November, searches in the area uncovered a suspicious device on the Legavallon Road. A controlled explosion was carried out and it has now been determined that this object was a viable explosive device.
Detective Inspector Stuart Griffin said: “I would like to thank the people of Drumsurn for their continuing support and patience while we have dealt with this security operation over the last two days and I ask that this continues as this lengthy operation carries on into tomorrow.”
