Cushendall woman convicted of Benefit Fraud

A woman was convicted at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

Alison Gillan (35) of Bellisk Drive, Cushendall claimed Income Support totalling £2,767 while failing to declare capital. She was given a two year conditional discharge and ordered to pay court costs of £25.

She is also required to repay the outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
