John, who has been deaf from birth and has also lost his sight in recent years, travelled from his home in Seacon last week to take part in the National Tournament.
The Deputy Mayor described John as an inspirational character and went on to say “His indomitable spirit in the face of adversity is a shining example to us all in the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough.”
“Well done John, we look forward to following your progress in competitive archery over the coming years. I would also like to commend the tireless efforts of John’s family, Causeway Archers team, the helpers, interpreters and all others involved in supporting our local hero.”
