Deputy Mayor “devastated” to learn of Michelin Closure

Deputy Mayor Cllr Darryl Wilson has expressed his sadness to learn of the upcoming job losses in Ballymena.

Cllr Wilson said: “I am devastated to learn that we will see massive job losses at Michelin Ballymena.”

“Over 900 jobs are set to go as the factory will be run down/closed over the next 3 years.”

“This is a devastating blow to North Antrim and the surrounding areas, especially after learning in the last few months that JTI faces the same fate .”

“My thoughts go out to the staff and their families today.”
