Deputy Mayor proposes new 3g pitch build in Ballymoney within next 12 months.

1 Mins read

Deputy Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Darryl Wilson has proposed that a 3g pitch be built at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre in Ballymoney.

Speaking about the proposal, Cllr Wilsn said: “Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council have recently secured £350,000 from DCAL to be used in the years 2016/17 for the provision of a multi-sport facility in the Borough.”

“Over the years I have been approached by numerous sports clubs in the Ballymoney area highlighting the unmet demand for 3g facilities in the area.”

“Teams often have to avail of private 3g facilities or indeed travel outside of the Borough. Tonight at the Leisure and Development committee I had no hesitation in proposing that Council proceed with building a new 3g pitch at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre.”

“This decision will have to be ratified at full council, I sincerely hope that my fellow councillors approve this proposal.”
