COME AND SAMPLE THE DELIGHTS OF THE ARTISAN FOOD AND CRAFT MARKET AT DUNLUCE CASTLE: DURKAN
Naturally North Coast will team up with Dunluce Castle to bring their Artisan Food and Craft Market to this iconic setting on Saturday 29 August from 11.00am to 4.00pm.
~ Thursday, 20 August 2015
Within the dramatic setting of the castle walls, a host of market stalls will showcase their exquisite handcrafted products, demonstrating the best the north coast has to offer and providing an opportunity to interact with the artisan who has made them. Come along to explore, to discover new flavours, stumble upon artistic talent, and to savour a uniquely vibrant atmosphere.
The stallholders will also be joined on the day by The Grete Mephisto. A medieval entertainer extraordinaire who can juggle, walk on stilts, lie on his Bed of Nails, tell tall tales, perform feats of gymnastic skill, and entertain young and old in truly historic fashion!
Younger visitors will also have the chance to design and make their own Coat of Arms. Any budding young heralds out there can come along and design their own shield with the help of our experienced armourer.
Environment Minister, Mark H. Durkan said: “This event combines the very best of local craft and produce with the spectacular setting of Dunluce Castle. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate our local heritage as well as to recognise the talent of our local producers. I encourage everyone to come along to what will be a fantastic, fun-filled day for all the family.”
Free parking for the event will be provided at the Magheracross tourist car park, with a free shuttle bus to the castle. Reduced admission rates to the castle will apply and no booking is necessary.
