Employers now have the right to monitor your online private messages following a ruling by the European Court of Human Rights.
The worker asked the Court to rule his Human Rights breached after the company he worked for sacked him in 2007 after they accessed his private messages and found he had been contacting his fiancée and his brother alongside professional contacts.
The Court ruled that the company was within its rights in attempting to verify the employee was completing his professional tasks during working hours.
