Exciting times are ahead at Gracehill House near Ballymoney as the current owners undertake a multi-million pound project to transform the house and the surrounding grounds into an attractive Tourist Hub, similar in style to Ballymena’s Galgorm Resort.
This plan was put into action around one year ago when the current owners purchased Gracehill Golf Club and the grounds surrounding it. As well as this, they are currently finalising their purchase of The Hedges Hotel.
Once the purchase of the Hotel is completed, the site will have three restaurants, headed by former Northern Ireland Chef of the Year, Chris Bell.
Chris trained under Paul Rankin and Michael Deane, won the Gordon Ramsay Scholarship and was Head Chef of the Longridge Restaurant in Preston where he maintained its Michelin Star.
While it was reported in other local media that the current owners are a Manchester based company, General Manager Andy McCurly contacted Causeway Coast Community and confirmed that the company is actually based in Northern Ireland, but also has offices in England.
Mr McCurly believes that the site has great potential, and that the Golf Course will be the main attraction to establish a real alternative to the Galgorm in the North Coast.
The entire estate is open to the public so why not head along? Whether you simply want to view the grounds, play a round of golf or enjoy a meal, you’re sure to be made very welcome.
