Fears for 580 Jobs across Ireland as Xtra-Vision closes all stores

There are fears that 580 jobs could be lost across Ireland as Xtra-Vision is set to go into liquidation.

The liquidator Grant Thornton Ltd has been called in to oversee the closure of the company’s 80 remaining stores across Ireland. While some jobs may be saved, the vast majority of the 580 staff employed the company across ireland, including 60 in Northern Ireland will lose their jobs.

The company has been declared insolvent and unable to pay its debts.

It is understood that all remaining stores in Northern Ireland are to close today.
